Phil Rogers was originally plunged into Adelaide's
nightclub scene in early 2003. He began work at
Sugar as a glassy, but soon became more preoccupied
by the music of the various, quality DJs the club
was presenting. The House/Tech House sounds of
DJs Sanjii and Tim Carter in particular were what
caught Phil's attention. Before long, the money
he was earning as a glassy was going towards decks
and vinyl.
His first gig landed him upstairs at Mile High
from 4am-9am on Saturday mornings. Here he teamed
up with Jayde and Martin Ho, two other young DJs
making names for themselves around Adelaide. After
a solid six months of playing Tech and Minimal
House at Mile, a Sunday night spot at Sugar was
given to the boys. This led to them supporting
house legend Gene Farris over the October long
weekend of 2005. As well as this Phil had the
chance to play alongside Paul Radley (well known
for his distinctive underground House sounds)
and amongest prominent Adelaide DJs at the Big
Day Out 2006.
Phil now has residency at Sugar and plays the
2am-4am set every Sunday with Sanjii and Tim Carter.
He also has residency at Mile High, playing alongside
Jayde and Martin Ho 4am-9am on Saturday mornings
and rotates with other DJs to being playing individually
every few weeks from 7am-9am on Sunday mornings.
Phil has also been spotted playing at Lotus Lounge,
Botanic and at Zhivago (of old).
