 ELECTRIC
MINDS
Since starting life in 2005 electric minds has become
one of brightest & most cutting edge records
labels / parties in London. The label has released
music from the likes of Mark E, Duffstep, Hreno,
The Mole, Toby Tobias, Ilija Rudman, Michael J Collins,
Yam Who, Gatto Fritto, Stevie Kotey, Faze Action
plus many more as well as a special album recreating
and covering a number of Arthur Russell's classic
tracks that was released in 2009 on cd and limited
edition vinyl. DJ Magazine & IDJ have listed
electric minds as one of the pioneering labels currently
championing the sounds of house and disco; both
magazines featured the label in their August '09
edition with IDJ providing a 4 page feature on electric
minds in their December '09 edition. DJ Magazine
followed up their previous words with a full feature
on electric minds in July 2010.
All of the A&R, art direction
and label management is handled by Dolan Bergin
and in the last few years electric minds has found
fans worldwide. Its music has received support
from DJs and producers across the scene namely
Ame, Sasse, Prins Thomas, The Revenge, Milton
Jackson, Harvey, Danny Krivit, Idjut Boys, Will
Saul and many more.
Dolan completed a tour of Japan
and Australia in June 2009 to promote electric
minds Volume 1 Cd series as well as summer festival
dates in Croatia, Germany, Italy and The U.K.
November '09 saw a collaboration with the award
winning Lovebox Festival to launch the Arthur
Russell Tribute album.
2010 included a boat party at
Croatia's Garden Festival, an album launch in
New York and further dates in Paris, Switzerland,
Italy & Berlin. The London events started
over the Easter weekend with a huge warehouse
party that was jointly organised with secretsundaze
with a follow up taking place over the May bank
Holiday in the loft above East London's Rich Mix
Cinema. In October Dolan solely promoted the Commix
album launch for the Metalheadz label, bringing
to London Berghain / Panorama resident Marcel
Dettmann. In addition Resident Advisor sponsor
the electric minds loft parties that take place
over the summer / autumn bringing guests to London
such as Tony Lionni, Move D, Mark E, Commix, Marcus
Worgull, Christopher Rau.
For 2011 the loft parties continue
as well as a return to Croatia's Garden Festival
to host their weekend club night. electric minds
join forces with the Warm Agency to host the Saturday
dance stage at London's Lovebox Festival as well
as jointly organising 3 bank holiday warehouse
parties which include 2 exclusive London label
showcases for Berghain / Panorama Bar's label,
Ostgut Ton. A return to Australia, Asia and the
U.S.A. in 2011 is underway with gigs in Singapore,
Bali, Jakarta, Sydney Melbourne, Adelaide, San
Francisco & New York.
